We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Damien Lawton, who left this world on May 2, 2024, at the age of 40. Born on January 5, 1984, in Gulfport, Mississippi, Damien was the beloved son of O.C. McDonald Jr. and Diana Lawton.

He was a hardworking man, from his first job at Casino Magic as a Dealer to becoming Assistant GM at Shaggy’s and Big Play Entertainment center, where he made countless memories and formed lasting friendships. Wherever Damien was, there was sure to be good times and lots of laughter. Everyone that knew him knew his girls were his world. He loved traveling, living life and spending time with family and friends and going to the shooting range with his Uncle Ken.

Known for his infectious smile, quick wit, and kind heart, Damien touched the lives of all who knew him. Whether he was cracking a joke or lending a helping hand, Damien's presence brought joy to those around him.

Damien leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, including his beautiful daughters Shayla and Alia Lawton of Hattiesburg, MS; His mother Diana Lawton of Gulfport, MS and father O.C McDonald Jr. of Biloxi, MS; 1 brother Brandon Lawton of Gulfport, MS; 2 sisters Tamika Lawton of Gulfport, MS and Callie Pearl Elliot of Memphis, TN; 3 nephews Jadarian, Jerin and KJ; 3 nieces Aubrey, Melina and Aimee;  1 very special cousin Tyvon Williams who was more like a brother; 10 aunts, 9 uncles 1 great aunt, 2 great uncles and a host of cousins and friends.

Although we grieve his loss, we take comfort in knowing that Damien is now at peace and watching over us from above. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts and memories.

Rest easy, Damien. You will be deeply missed.
