XENIA — Richard "Dickie" Dale Parks, 74, of Xenia passed away at his home with his family by his side on April 22, 2014. Dickie was born on September 8, 1939 in Xenia, Ohio to Millard and Dorothy (Dillard) Parks. Dickie served in the US Air Force from 1956-1961 and later received an Associate's degree from Rets Tech College. He was an avid mushroom hunter and wine maker living his life to the fullest. Surviving are his daughters: Tamara Parks and Brandy Davis; sons: Aaron, Kevin and Jason; seven grandchildren and close friend Josh Noland. He was preceded in death by his parents: Millard Sr. and Dorothy Parks, wife: Donna Parks; friend: Charlotte Curtis and a brother: Millard E. Parks Jr. . Also surviving are brothers: Dennis L. Parks (Gladys), Adrial W. Parks (Teri); sisters: Myrna R. McCatherine, Scherry L. Diamond, Joyce E Holmes (William), Margo M. Gwin; aunt: Peggy Boase and numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends and family. No funeral service will be held but a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family request memorial contributions be made in his name to Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton Ohio. in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are in care of McColaugh Funeral Home Inc.
