Cruz Roybal Sr. was called home to our Lord on April 19, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born on Feb. 9, 1916 to Cecilio and Sofia Roybal. He has been reunited with his beloved wife, Juanita and daughter, Mary Alice.He is survived by his children, Cruz Roybal Jr, (Theresa), Gloria Sena, Ofelia Martinez, Chela Roybal, Eva Roybal (Waldren), Emilio Roybal (Cindy), Joann Roybal, and Paulette Sharrer (Chris) and 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and numerous friends and relatives.He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. He walked to 'El Centro' (Senior Center) and to the Santuario. He instilled the value of hard work and his faith in God to all his children. He spent his days praying the rosary and listening to the religious channel. He will be greatly missed by all.The rosary of devotional service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The mass of resurrection will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant. Interment will follow the mass at San Jose Cemetery in Las Vegas. Serving as pallbearers: Fernando Roybal, John Roybal, Rick Roybal, Mike Roybal, Glenn Roybal, Gabriel Montoya, Chris Montoya, and Danny Sena.
