STROH — Craig L. Harp, 60, of Stroh, Indiana, died Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Harp was born on July 2, 1955, in LaGrange, Indiana, to Donald Perry and Retha Irene (Nelson) Harp. Living his lifetime in LaGrange County, he was a 1973 graduate of Lakeland High School. He worked for many years at Ohio Table Pad in LaGrange where he was a plant supervisor. He also worked at Dunkel Enterprises as a subcontractor and at Universal Forest Products as a plant supervisor. Craig loved to turkey hunt and participated with Kasey Noll in the youth hunt. He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF). He was a former baseball coach for Lakeland and LaGrange Little League. He loved to work races at the Eldora Speedway in Ohio. His greatest love though, was spending time with his grandkids. Surviving are his children, Aaron Harp of Stroh, Indiana, Dane Harp of Sturgis, Michigan, and Whitney Harp of Orland, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Laken, Addison, Breanna, Grayden, Kaleb, Keira and Kohen; a brother, Steve Harp of Avilla, Indiana; an aunt, Lucille Nelson of Shipshewana, Indiana; an uncle, Bill Harp of Largo, Florida; the mother of his children, Denise (Gerbers) Harp; and longtime friend and hunting buddy, Kenton "Bud" Miller. His parents, a granddaughter, Kendyl K. Harp, and an uncle, Devon Nelson, preceded him in death. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, Indiana, with the Rev. Carldean Merrifield officiating. Following the services there will be a lunch at the Stroh Volunteer Fire Department. Visitation will take place on Monday, May 2, 2016, from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to either the National Wild Turkey Federation or to the Orland Tigers Youth League. Condolences may be left for the family at www.fruripmayfuneralhome.com.
