RACINE - Constance “Connie” J. Mordja, 70, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee. Connie was born on June 15, 1943 to Joseph and Lydia (nee: Zimdars) Amann in Racine. Connie was a graduate of William Horlick High School, class of 1961, where she met her high school sweetheart, Dennis. She was united in marriage to Dennis L. Mordja, Sr. on June 24, 1961 in Racine. Connie committed the last 53 years of her life to being a loving wife and mother to their five children. She was a former member of the 5th Street Yacht Club Ladies Auxillary and of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She was also a Wilton Cake Decorator. Connie is survived by her husband, Dennis L. Mordja, Sr. and her children; Kimberely Arbour, Amber Mordja, Candy Sue Jackson, Dennis (Gina) Mordja, Jr. and Matthew (Pam) Mordja. Connie is also survived by one granddaughter and ten grandsons, four great-grandsons and her beloved dog, Rags. Connie is further survived by sisters; Lydia (Russ) Stephan and Pat Amann of Racine and also nieces, nephews and many friends. Constance was preceded in death by her parents; Joseph L. Amann and Lydia H. (nee: Zimdars) Amman, one brother, John Amann, sister; Jackie Kollmann, and one grandson, Joshua Lang. A Funeral Mass for Constance will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11:00 am. Friends and relatives may visit with the family from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery following the Mass. There will be a visitation on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Wilson Funeral Home.
