NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Connie S. Bry, 70, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016, in Cape Coral, Florida. Mrs. Bry was born on July 30, 1946, in Auburn to Jay and Joan (Gorrell) Yarde. Mrs. Bry resided most of her life in Auburn and Jackson Township. She was a 1964 graduate of Auburn High School, and attended IPFW in Fort Wayne for interior design. She was married to Clarence Bry, also of Auburn, for 52 years. Mrs. Bry moved to Urbana, Ohio, as part of her husband's work with International Harvester where she was active in community efforts, and established the Urbana Historic Home and Garden Tour which still continues. Mr. and Mrs. Bry later retired to North Fort Myers, Florida. Mrs. Bry served as secretary for former Auburn Mayor Jack Sanders, and was employed by the Andres Insurance Agency in Auburn, along with her interior design work. She participated as a designer in past Decorator Showcase Homes presented by the Auburn Improvement Association. Mrs. Bry was also active in DeKalb County 4-H, and served as a leader in Jackson Township. Her 4-H float designs were grand-prize winners during past DeKalb County fairs. She was also involved in Democrat Ladies and was once a candidate for DeKalb County Clerk. She is survived by her mother, Joan of Auburn; her husband, Clarence of North Fort Myers; her children, Jay Bry of Worcester, Massachusetts, Tricia (Bry) Kirkpatrick and son-in-law, Matthew, of Chesterfield, Missouri, and John Bry of Mansfield, Pennsylvania; and her grandchildren, Ashlyn, Jaela, Bryce, and Makenna Kirkpatrick, all of Chesterfield, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her father, Jay, and a sister, Carole (Yarde) Washler. A private committal service will take place with entombment at the Auburn Mausoleum. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Bry's memory to DeKalb County 4-H or the DeKalb County Humane Society. Arrangements are by Pinnington Funeral & Cremation Services, 502 N. Main St., Auburn.
