Clarenda Smith, beloved mother, daughter, and friend, passed away on January 6, 2026 in Hickory, North Carolina at the age of 43. She was born on August 2, 1982 to her mother Carrie Bell Ivey.

Clarenda leaves behind her four children, Alicia Igartua, Asakia Wilson, Aniya Smith, and Kae’Shawn Smith. She was a proud graduate of Asheville High School class of 2001 and was known for her hobbies of talking junk and her love for music.

Despite her sometimes sassy nature, Clarenda will be remembered for her sense of humor and her ability to brighten up any room. She was known for her quick wit and infectious laughter.

Although she left this world too soon, Clarenda will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace, cracking jokes and dancing to her favorite tunes in the great beyond.
