Neu, Jr., Clarence R.Clarence R. "Bub" Neu Jr., 82, of Weston, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, Weston. He is now resting in the arms of his Lord & Savior.Bub was born on February 3, 1935 in Cobban, Chippewa County, Wis., to the late Clarence R. and Mary (Koehler) Neu, Sr. He graduated from Superior Senior High before joining the Army National Guard and lived at rural Phillips, Wis. After marriage the family lived in Milwaukee. Ranking as a Sergeant First Class, he left the National Guard, returned to rural Phillips (Emery Twp.) and began working as a Machinist for Blount, Inc. He retired in 1992. He married Patricia Houdek in 1955 and together they had two daughters. Patricia preceded him in death on January 13, 1991. He then met Edith Carpenter. They fell in love, and became husband and wife on November 11, 2000 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Schofield, Wisconsin. Bub & Edith traveled via motorhome in USA and flew to England, Panama, Hawaii, and Alaska.Bub liked the outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. He was a good man and was well liked by anyone who had the opportunity to get to know him. His kindness and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Bub is survived by his wife, Edith Carpenter-Neu of Weston; Daughters, Deborah Heizler of Phillips and Sandra (Robert) Hurst of Florida; step-daughter, Diane Carpenter of Wausau; step-son, Dean Carpenter of Midlothian, VA; a special step-daughter, Libertad "Libby" nee Canton (Scott) Plamann of Kronenwetter; eight grand-children, Heather, Brooke, and Dustin (Susan) Stark, Kelsey Hurst, Adrienne Larson, Kendra Eggebrecht, James Heizler and Hope (Elijah) Weber. He is further survived by five step-grandsons, Sean and Ian Carpenter and Andrew, Zachary, and Karlos Plamann, 11 great-grandchildren and his sister, Emily Reeves of Janesville, WI.Beside his parents, Bub was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Gaylord Reeves, and his first wife, Patricia nee Houdek Neu.A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Brainard Funeral Home-Weston Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. A visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Town of Emery Cemetery at a later date.In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations in Bub's memory be made to St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1351 Grand Ave, Schofield, WI.
