BOERNE, Texas - Clarence A. Benninger, 88, a lifetime resident of Lewis Run, Pa., passed away Thursday (Nov. 10, 2016) in Boerne. He was born on Nov. 26, 1927 in Brookville, Pa., a son of the late Cash and Clara White Benninger.Clarence was a 1946 graduate of Bradford (Pa.) Area High School. On May 19, 1953 in the Swedish Lutheran Church, Wilcox, Pa., he married Joan Benson, who survives. He was a member of the Lafayette Evangelical Church in Lewis Run. He so enjoyed listening and dancing to country music, along with camping and fishing. He had been a former employee of South Penn Oil Co., and retired from Quaker State Refinery, in May 1990.In addition to his wife of 63 years, Joan Benninger, Clarence is also survived by one son, Gust Benninger of Boerne; three grandchildren, Chad Keyte of Boerne, Ashley Heinze of Helotes and Emily Urquijo of Kenmare, N.D.; four great-grandchildren, Noah & Nydia Urquijo and Heidi & Sophia Heinze. He is also survived by one sister, Irene Stromberg of Killeen; three brothers: Charles Benninger of Lewis Run, Pa., Darrell Benninger of Henderson, Nev., and Burrell Benninger of Bradford, Pa.A Memorial service will be held privately by the family at a later date.
