Claire M. Brophy88, of Carmel, passed away on September 22, 2017. Claire was born on June 13, 1929 to Patrick and Anna Mullen in Jackson Heights, New York. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was devoted to her Catholic faith, enjoyed travelling and playing games. She cherished her family and a multitude of friends made over a lifetime through all that she did.Claire was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Frank Brophy. She is survived by her children, Timothy Brophy, Andrew Brophy (Shami), Lizann Coussa (John), Maureen Witt (Tom), Stephen Brophy, Patrick Brophy (Karen); 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.Visitation will be held Monday, September 25, 2017 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church from 4pm-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 26 at 11am at the church, with visitation 1 hour prior. Inurnment will take place in the St. Rood Cemetery in Westbury Long Island, New York.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church or St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
