Christopher L. Winiewicz1964 - 2015Christopher L. Winiewicz, 50, of Lindenhurst, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015. He was born on Sept. 8, 1964, in Kenosha, Wis., to Casimer and Dorothy Winiewicz. He married the love of his life, Gina Mateja, on Dec. 29, 1998. Chris worked at Hospira, he enjoyed traveling with his family, and was a devoted and supporting father to his girls, in all they did. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 16 years, Gina Winiewicz; loving daughters, Ashley Winiewicz and Haylie Winiewicz, who passed away shortly after her father; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Sue Mateja; nephew, Jac Mateja; niece, Taylor Slotkus; sister-in-law and "brother from another mother" and best friend, Dana (Adam) Slotkus and brother-in-law, Brad (Lori) Mateja; brothers, David, Larry, Gregory and Brian Winiewicz. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved nephew, Peyton Mateja. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, from 2-9 p.m. at WARREN FUNERAL HOME, 1475 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, and from 8:30 a.m. until mass time at 10 a.m. at the church (please meet at the church on Thursday morning, Sept. 3, 2015). A funeral mass will be held Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 15000 W. Wadsworth Rd., Wadsworth, IL with Fr. James Merold officiating. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
