Christopher Lee BrownChristopher Lee Brown, 60, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017. The youngest of four children, he was born on October 24, 1956 in Springfield, Missouri to Jean (Knight) Brown and Ralph Brown.Chris was a graduate of Kickapoo HS and retired from the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners after 21 years of service. He was active in local politics serving as Greene County Democratic Central Chair from 2014 to 2017 and was most recently the proud recipient of the Howard Hannah award for distinquished service. Chris enjoyed grilling, fishing various lakes, riding his Harley, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He could fix anything. Chris was preceeded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Jean Brown; two sons, Seth and Shelby Brown; his daughter, Allison (Thad) Mayes; a granddaughter, Laekyn Brown; and three sisters, Donna (Dan) Drewry, Patty Davis, Carrie (Rick) Brattin, along with many cousins, nephews and nieces. Chris also leaves behind his most special friend and companion, Deb Bellotti. Chris was a true friend to many and will be greatly missed by his friends and loving family members.Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Memorial Service will be Thursday, June 1, at 11:00 am. Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Private Inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the in Chris' name.
