On June 27, 1940, a son was born to Houston and Adell Walker. He was the middle child of five children. Both parents preceded him in death. Also proceeding in his death were his two brothers: Eddie Walker and Houston Walker Jr.
Chris attended Booker T. Washington High School where he was academically successful. He won the city-wide writing contest about American History. He was the valedictorian of his class and received a full scholarship to Tuskegee University. He later attended Texas Southern University receiving an engineering degree. Chris was a lifetime member of Loving Word Fellowship Church. He served our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in many capacities. He was employed at Baker Hughes as an engineer and retired after 45 years.
Chris loved hunting and fishing. He brought home many prey for his wife to prepare.
Chris was united in marriage to Mary in 1960. To this union was born five beautiful children: Sharon Denise, Roslyn Renee, Chris Jr, Sheila Lanay and Anissa Gale. Preceding him in death was his fun loving daughter Anissa and precious granddaughter Madison Arlissa. To cherish his memory are three daughters: Sharon (James), Roslyn (Emile), Sheila; one son Chris; sister, Patsy (Robert); brother, Ronald, six grandchildren: Jesse, Paige, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Sean and Kynnedi, three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
