Charlotte M. SmithAugust 4, 1929 - June 24, 2017WindsorCharlotte M. "Maggie" Smith, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24 at Rest Haven. She was the beloved wife of Oliver R. "Bud" Smith, who passed away in 2010. The couple was married for 56 years. Mrs. Smith was born on August 4, 1929 in Chanceford Township and was the daughter of the late Albert B. and Florence M. "Mary" (Fishel) Eveler. Charlotte worked for several cigar factories in the Red Lion area, and for a chip factory and a shoe factory, both in Columbia. Her last job was working for CorBox in York.She is survived by her daughter, Charlene M. Keener and her husband, Stephen L.; a brother, Sylvester "Wes" Eveler of York. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by six brothers, Samuel A., Wilbur J. "Buck", Myles C. "Fats", Walter S., Dale T. "Tom" and Raymond R. Eveler; and her three sisters, Beulah M. Koontz, Gladys A. Brenneman and Ruth E. Peters. A service to honor Charlotte's life will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 1 at The Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday and will begin at 9 a.m. until the start of the service. Interment to follow in Salem Community Cemetery, Windsor.
