Charles F. Ellis Sr., 77, of Athens Township passed away early Sunday morning, surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Charles was born on Sept. 19, 1939, in Sayre, a son of the late Charles and Agnes (Chamberlain) Ellis. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. On August 9, 1957 he married Rose (Robinson) Ellis. Charles was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Agnes (Chamberlain) Ellis; son, Kevin Ellis in 2003 and Baby Girl Cindy Ellis in 1958; two grandsons, Robert Ellis in 2004 and Kyle Peace in 1990.Charles is survived by his wife, Rose (Robinson) Ellis at home; children: Karen (Dan) Peace of Punxsutawney, Pa., Charles (Peg) Ellis Jr. of Rockton, Pa., Timothy (Kelly) Ellis of DuBois, Pa., Tina (Brad) Peace of Reynoldsville, Pa., Julie (Bill) Collins of Brookville, Pa.; 18 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.A memorial service and celebration of Charles' life will be held at a later date.
