Charles H. Elsila1927 - 2014Charles H. Elsila, Sr., 86, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Grande Prairie Health & Rehab.He was born on Oct. 4, 1927, to the late William and Hilma (Backman) Elsila in Chassell, Michigan. He was educated in the schools of Michigan.On July 8, 1953, he married Gladys Livingston in Ironwood, Mich. She preceded him in death on Aug. 1, 2007.Charlie worked at Johnson Motors for many years, retiring in 1988.Charlie enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with family. He also enjoyed going on vacations to upper Michigan and taking walks.Charlie is survived by his children, Charles (Dori) Elsila Jr. of Charleston, Ill., David (Martha) Elsila of Saukville, Wis., Diane (Charlie) Caldwell of Battle Creek, Mich., Brian Elsila and Susan Elsila both of Kenosha; his eight grandchildren and his three great grandchildren.Five sisters and three brothers precede him in death.Funeral Services for Charlie will be held on Sunday, Jan. 12 at 3 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
