Charles B. WatkinsCharles B. Watkins, 87, of Ellensburg, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 after a long battle with COPD.Chuck was born on September 21, 1926 in North Powder, Oregon. At an early age he moved to Kittitas where he attended school. He married his High School sweetheart, Caryl Peterson, on December 4, 1945. They enjoyed a wonderful life together until she passed away nearly eleven years ago.He served his country while in the US Navy from 1942 until 1946. He would return from duty to work as a heavy equipment operator for the Operating Engineers Locals 302 and 612. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, but truly enjoyed helping with his wife's business, Caryl's Custom Draperies.Charles is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Barry Snover of Ellensburg, a grandson Christopher Snover of Ellensburg and a great-granddaughter, Samantha Snover of Covington, WA.A Graveside Service will be 12:30 p.m.; Friday, November 22, 2013 at IOOF in Ellensburg.Arrangements by Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory, Ellensburg.
