Abbott, of Greenville, SC passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017, at the McCall Hospice House.Charles was born on September 11, 1954, in Augusta, Georgia to the late Julian and Elizabeth Abbott. He is survived by his wife, Merrianna Abbott; one son, Charles Abbott, Jr. (Kandis); one stepson, Hunter Reese (McKenzie); one grandson, Miles Reese; one sister, Betsy Abbott Tillman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Charles graduated from high school in 1972 at the Briarwood Academy in Thomson, Georgia and attended and graduated from North Georgia College in 1976. He remained active in the Alumni Association until his death. He was an avid golfer and was a huge Georgia Bulldog Fan.A Memorial service will be held at Mackey Mortuary Chapel on September 9, 2017, with visitation at 1:00 pm following service at 2:00 pm.In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to the American Cancer Association in his memory or to your church.
