CHARLENE ANN PETE VALPARAISO, IN Charlene Ann Pete age 71, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. She was born on October 23, 1945 in Hammond, IN to Harvey and Janice (Ballard) Wein. Charlene is survived by her husband, John Pete of Valparaiso; children: Bret (Jennifer) Pete of Valparaiso, Bart (Laura) Pete of Mishawaka, Jennifer (Scott) Buck of Miller Beach, and Jason (Tonya) Pete of Independence, KS; grandchildren: Jonathan Pete and Stella Pete. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Gene Racine and William Wein. Charlene worked at Pizza Hut for 25 years. She enjoyed cooking and helping people and was a very generous person. She was also an avid gardener and had a big heart for animals. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
