Catherine Scheibe Obituary

Mar 04, 1957 - Dec 08, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
Scheibe, CatherineMy name is Catherine R. Scheibe (nee Kelnhofer), or for those who knew me, "Cathy". Here is my story. I lived in Hortonville, really the Town of Ellington. I passed away at home on December 8, 2016, at the age of 59 surrounded by my family. I was born on March 4, 1957, in Appleton, WI, daughter of the late Arnold and Catherine (Carter) Kelnhofer. On July 15, 1974, I was very happily married to my high school sweetheart and the love of my life, Gregg H. Scheibe. I enjoyed many things throughout my life, but my most favored hobbies included my love for riding on the back of Gregg's motorcycle where we traveled many miles site-seeing with family and friends. I also enjoyed tinkering in my flower gardens. It was during those time when I could relax and daydream. I became employed with Kimberly-Clark in 1989. It was during my career with K-C where I met so many friends, one of whom I met in 1989 and remained close friends with, Jane Clusen. I am survived by my husband Gregg, and my children whom I am so proud of: Chad Scheibe and Chris (Dale) Daemmrich; three grandchildren who immediately stole my heart at their births: Emily Scheibe (Daemmrich) and her fiancé Caleb Abrahamson, Calli Scheibe, Logan Scheibe; three wonderful sisters: Bev (John) Vander Wielen, Marie (Tom) Moser, Sharon (Joe) Mann and one fantastic brother: Mike (Amy) Kelnhofer, my wonderful mother-in-law Lorraine Scheibe and sisters-in-law, Sandy Scheibe (Ron Weyenberg) and Lori (Joe) Friebel. I am further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends Randy & Sue Lopas, Shelly Streckert, and many other good friends. Preceding me in death were my parents, two brothers: Dick and Larry, a brother-in-law John Vander Wielen, father-in-law Eugene Scheibe, and a special friend and biker buddy, Bill Donker. I would like my family and friends to remember me for my love of life. I loved to ride motorcycle, listen to music, dance, laugh, and simply have fun. I have some very special songs that I would like to dedicate to my family and friends. "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion: Gregg, every time I heard this song, I couldn't help but think how this related to you. You were always there to support my dreams as well as my whims. You helped me become the person I was and I thank you for standing by me and helping me to succeed. "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack: this song is something I hope everyone listens to and takes to heart. Don't be afraid to take chances. Sometimes things don't work out but you won't know the outcome if you don't take the risk. "Remember When" by Alan Jackson: this song made me think of the life Gregg and I shared and it made me smile. We had a great life together and created a lot of memories. I hope my family and friends will look back at the times we shared and smile, even laugh, and know I treasured and loved my time with you all very much. I want to thank the wonderful staff at Dr. Goggin's Oncology Office. I especially want to thank my immediate family Gregg, Chad, Chris, Dale, Emily, Calli, and Logan. I couldn't have made this difficult and final journey without your support, help, and prayers. I love you all and will give you virtual hugs and kisses from up above from God's House. You are all welcome to join us at Valley Funeral Home at 2211 North Richmond St. in Appleton on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 with a memorial service to follow. We will be celebrating Cathy's life at Waverly Beach following the service. Snacks will be provided. To Cathy: Babe, I miss you so much and you will be loved forever. -Gregg.
