Catherine Jane McDonald Catherine Jane McDonald passed away on July 21st, 2017 in Olympia, Washington. Cathy was born on August 6th, 1938 in Tacoma, Washington to Elaine Farwell (Clark) and Roy Farwell. She graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1956. She met her husband, Dennis, while working at Boeing in Seattle, Washington. They were married on March 24th, 1957 and soon moved to Olympia, Washington where Dennis started his teaching career in the North Thurston School District. They had three beautiful children; Craig, Tori, and Sean. Cathy graduated from Pacific Lutheran University and started her teaching career in 1972. She taught elementary art at South Bay Elementary School. Upon her retirement, Dennis and Cathy toured the world. Cathy enjoyed art, going to the beach, gardening, theater, and traveling. She is survived by her three children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. A gathering in honor of Cathy's life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, July 28th at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship, 2508 State Street. Please join the family in wearing red.
