Taylor – Catherine “Cathy” Taylor, age 83, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on December 8, 2023, at her residence with her loving family by her side. Cathy was born in Glouchester County, Virginia on August 2, 1940, to the late William B. Berry and Evelyn Elizabeth Brown Berry. Cathy enjoyed a long career in the Food Hospitality Industry. Following school, she started as a waitress where she met her best friend, Donald Oland Taylor. They were happily married on August 15, 1962, and had 27 amazing years together. Cathy was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a long successful career as a Food Service Manager and proudly served at Baptist Medical Center Downtown, St. Vincent’s Riverside, Burger King, and AT&T. Later in life, she enjoyed being a caretaker and tending to those who needed assistance. Cathy enjoyed attending the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville when she was able, but enjoyed listening to services online. She also enjoyed reading Joyce Meyers books and watching Joyce Meyers sermons. Cathy enjoyed cooking for her family and was known for her love of grocery stores especially Food Lion, going to yard sales and collecting nik naks. Cathy was so very loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Oland Taylor, Sr.; son, Donnie Taylor, Jr.; grandson, Donnie Taylor, III; brother, Albert L. Berry; and sister, Etta West.

Cathy is survived by her loving children, Trina Taylor of Jacksonville, FL and Crystal (Chris, Sr.) Carter of Pearson, GA; sister-in-law, Lavina Berry; 7 grandchildren, Ronnie Terry, Jr., Robbie Terry, Christopher Carter, Jr., Cajun Carter, Sarah Boettner, Rebecca Hooks, and Amber Taylor; ten great grandchildren,her best friend of the last 50 years Nancy Hall, along with numerous extended family members and friends.

A Graveside Celebration will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Jacksonville Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
