On April 20, 2020, Catherine Conroy Carey passed away peacefully in Queens, N.Y., joining her beloved husband, Martin, who passed away only a month earlier.

Cathy is survived by her son, William; grandson, Seamus; brother James (Eileen) Conroy; brother-in-law Michael (Cathleen); sister-in-laws Virginia (Farrell) and Audrey (Mundle); and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to Marty, Cathy was preceded in death by her mother Anna (Hagan) and her father John Conroy; her sisters Joan and her husband William Toolen, and Anne and her husband Lloyd Maloney; brothers-in-laws William, Thomas and John (Jack) Carey; sister-in-law Mary Carey; and nephew John Carey.

Cathy was born on April 27, 1937 and raised in the Bronx, attending St. Martin of Tours Elementary School and St. Pius High School.

Cathy and Marty were wed on October 19, 1968, in the Bronx. They resided in Auburndale, Queens, and raised their son, Bill.

Cathy created a home filled with laughter and warmth. Her smile could brighten anyone's day.The aroma’s of Cathy’s exquisite roast beef, melt in your mouth chocolate chip cookies and the best in the world BBQ chicken is the beacon to memorable times in Auburndale.

Cathy & Marty loved each other deeply in this life and we are comforted to know that they are together. Her affectionate and ever-loving nature will be with us always.

A memorial service will be arranged at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cathy’s name through the John P.
