Carter passed away on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, in El Paso, Texas. He was born on May 27, 1951, in Memphis, Tenn., to Richard Osborne and Jeanne Ruth (Flemmons) McDaniel. Carter and Jan moved their family to Alamogordo in 2000. He honorably served in the US Air Force for 22 years, from 1972 – 1994. In 2000, he went to work as an Electronic Technician at Test Group, Holloman AFB until 2013. Carter also volunteered with New Mexico Mounted Patrol from 2003 – 2014.Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Jan McDaniel; daughters, Jennifer Boles and Deborah Hester and his six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Sean McDaniel; mother, Jeanne Bell; stepfather, Mitchell Bell and brother, Michael McDaniel.
