Carrie Lee Gordon Mickey, who brought love and joy to all who knew her, was born on March 11, 1946, in Rich, Mississippi to the late Freddie Lee and Roberta Whitfield. She entered her heavenly home in Memphis, TN. on May 18, 2025.
Carrie studied at Coahoma Agricultural High School and went on to work at both Coahoma Agricultural High School and Sack and Save. She was known for her cooking and baking skills such as her rolls, cakes, peach cobbler and spaghetti. She would always bringing delicious meals to family gatherings and events. Oh, how we will miss her cooking.
Carrie accepted Christ at an early age at New Morning Star M.B Church.
Carrie was a dedicated mother to her three children, Fred E Gordon (spouse Marguerite), Frederick Gordon, and Fernando Gordon. She adored her seven grandchildren (Anthony McCoy, Fred Jr., Brianna, Fernando Jr., Monique, Britney, and Tycoryia Thomas), eleven great grand children, as she cherished the time she spent with them.
Carrie was preceded in death by her son, Frederick Gordon; two brothers: Charlie and Andrew L. Henderson; and two sisters: Ella Green and Valerie Henderson.
Carrie leaves to cherish her memories her two sons: Fred E Gordon (spouse Marguerite) of Stockton, CA, Fernando Gordon of Memphis, TN.; her seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; three sisters: Willie B Tatum (spouse Stenson) of Chicago, IL., Mary Ann Jackson of Clarksdale, MS. and Beverly Henley of Tupelo, MS. Four brothers: Mose Henderson and Stanley Henderson both of Clarksdale, MS; James Henderson (Spouse Betty) of St. Louis, MO., and David Henderson of Tupelo, MS. A special nephew Terrance (Cory) Fonzy of Clarksdale, MS., and her caregiver Chantay Fletcher.
Carrie's strong belief in God, warm smile and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace knowing she was loved by many.
