CAROLYN JOYCE OYER, age 68, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 1:23 a.m. at Mount Carmel West Hospital.

She was born on July 23, 1948 in Fayette County to Rev. Joseph E. and Mary E. Hudnell Oyer. She was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School. She had worked for many years at Thatcher Plastic Packaging and also, Advanced Auto Parts in Jeffersonville. She enjoyed collecting angels, going out to eat with her friends, dancing, listening to George Straight music, and her cats.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Joseph Oyer, Timmy Oyer, Joan Jones, and Hugh "Diz" Oyer; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Oyer.

Survivors include her siblings, Marjorie Hodge, Ronald Oyer, Linda Baker, Bobbie (Thomas) Smith, James (Norma) Oyer, Sharon (J.W.) Smith, and Robin (Roger) Taylor. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemtery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4-7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.summersfuneralhome.com
