Caroline Woodings, beloved mother, grandmother, and educator, passed away on April 8th, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 1st, 1950, in Washington D.C., to Da'vine Woodings Jr. and Marisa Woodings.
Caroline is survived by her four children: Sharleen Baylor, Cardell Baylor, Sofa Woodings, and Carlos Woodings. She was a doting grandmother to nine grandchildren whose names we won't bother mentioning since, let's be real, who can keep track of all those kids?
Caroline attended Spingarn High School and graduated in 1968, and later continued her studies in Maryland. She then went on to work for the NRH Center organization, where she helped in operations that none of us really bothered to understand. It was here that Caroline was awarded The Global Teacher Award, for reasons that remain a mystery even to her closest friends and family.
Despite her achievements, Caroline was most known for her unforgettable sense of humor. She never took herself too seriously, and could always make anyone in the room laugh with her witty one-liners and impeccable comedic timing. In fact, some might say that her true calling in life was to become a stand-up comedian - had she not been so busy with those pesky "life responsibilities".
And so, as we say goodbye to Caroline, we celebrate her life and legacy. She taught us all how to laugh through the tough times, how to find joy in the mundane, and most importantly, how to never take ourselves too seriously. Rest in peace, Caroline. We'll never forget the mark you left on our lives.
