Rhodes, Carole LucilleCarole Lucille Rhodes, age 97, of Shelton, Washington, formerly of Marshfield, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, August 7th, 2017, at Capital Medical Center in Olympia, Washington.Carole (Carrol) was born on February 19th, 1920, the 13th child of Henry Osgood and Mildred (Potter) Hazel in Eastman, Wisconsin. She spent some of her childhood in Steubenville, Wisconsin.Carole married John Edward Rhodes on October 27th, 1937, in Merrill, WI. They lived in Marshfield soon after they were married and raised their three boys there. She worked at the shoe factory in Marshfield and later, she and her husband owned a tavern in Linsey, WI. She divorced on June 20th, 1962, and moved to Marshfield. She moved to the state of Washington in 1967 to be with her son, Michael, and his family. Carole remained single the rest of her life.Carole loved to dance, listen to country music, and play darts in tournaments in Shelton, WA, where she lived for the past 51 years. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Carole was a caregiver for many years in private care. She also babysat her grandkids over many years.Carole is survived by a son, Michael W. (Rosemary Taylor) Rhodes of Marshfield, WI, a sister, Betty Lutz of Pittsville, WI, six grandchildren, Gerald Rhodes of Copenhagen, Denmark, Annette Rhodes Trust of Copenhagen, Denmark, Daniel M. Rhodes of Marshfield, WI, Chelsea H. Rhodes of Shelton, WA, Rebecca Rhodes of Olympia, WA, and Matthew Woodbridge of Salem, OR, 15 great-grandchildren, Sheila Schjellerup Vinter Rhodes of Aalborg, Denmark, Katja Egheim Elsbol of Hvidovre, Denmark, Kevin Storgaard Neilson of Kobenhavn, Denmark, Patrick Trust and Ronni Trust of Denmark, Brandi Rose Lee of Shelton, WA, Amber Marie (Eric) Lopez of Shelton, WA, Sabastian Rhodes of Shelton, WA, Kyla Braget of Shelton, WA, Sophia Rose Weythman of Shelton, WA, and four great-great-grandchildren, Issac Lopez-Lee, Esau Lopez-Lee, and Natalia Rose Lopez-Lee, of Shelton WA, and Ethan Lee of Spokane, WA.Carole was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Victor Rhodes and Eugene John Rhodes, and a granddaughter, Rhonda Rose Rhodes.
