Carole Frances Raesly of Oscoda passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Saginaw St. Mary's Medical Center from complications brought on from Parkinson's disease.Carole was born on Feb. 11, 1938, in Sault Ste. Marie to Ralph and Dorothy (nee Doyle) Hart. It was there that she met and married Richard Raesly of Philadelphia, Pa., on Nov. 30, 1957, at St. Mary's Church in Sault Ste. Marie. Richard was in the United States Air Force and together they traveled many places, finally settling in Oscoda.Carole was a beloved wife and devoted mother, as well as an exceptional homemaker. She also worked several years in child care and child development at Wurtsmith Air Force Base until base closure.Carole is survived by her husband, Richard; her children, Richard, Kelly and Bill; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis and Margaret; and a brother, Roger.She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda.Per her wishes, she will be cremated and interred with her husband Richard at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly at a later date.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
