Carol Smith, born on June 17, 1945 in Mount Sterling, Illinois, passed away on January 3, 2026. She was a beloved member of the community, known for her dedication and kindness.

Carol had a fulfilling career at Mount Sterling Middle School, where she worked tirelessly until her retirement in 1996. She made a lasting impact on the lives of many students and colleagues.

Outside of work, Carol enjoyed spending time walking along the stream and donating her time to the Boys and Girls Club. She had a passion for helping others and spreading joy wherever she went.

Carol is survived by her three children, Crystal, Dee, and Richanna, as well as her ten grandchildren. Her love and legacy will live on through those she touched during her lifetime.

On January 3, 2026, Carol passed away due to a sudden and unexpected heart attack. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
