Carol Jane Welbon RACINE — “Heaven gained an angel today. Someone told me that nobody ever dies unless you forget them. Rest in peace, Carol Jane Welbon." Carol Jane Welbon (nee: Murphy), 79, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Hospital on Sunday, August 9, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born on September 12, 1935 in Racine to the late William and Marion Murphy. Carol graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to Dale F. Welbon on October 8, 1955. They raised 3 wonderful children who will dearly miss her, Mary Kay Ruehl, Richard Allen Welbon (Annette), and Tom (Karen) Welbon. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards with her friends and traveling with her husband Dale. She was also the last surviving member of the Cackle Club. This club was formed by friends who graduated from High School and they met almost every month for over 40 years. She was also president and secretary of several bowling leagues for many years. Carol and Dale also have a winter home in Sun City, CA and she loved to organize social functions for everybody in their neighborhood . She made sure everybody had a great time in everything she did and was there for anybody who needed help. Carol will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 59 years, Dale; three children, grandchildren, Nykki (Tony), Jessie, DJ (Niah), Blake, Savannah, Joey, Marty (Amanda), Scott (Stephanie), and Andy; great-grandchildren Nathan, Sean, TJ, Jamie, Justice, Natalie, Quintin, Jaxon, Whitney, Jackson, Grant, and Audrey; brother, William Murphy; brother-in-law, Robert John Crittendon (Sandy), and their children, Heather, Holli, and Sean.
