This obituary is administered by:
Carol Ann JenkinsFebruary 27, 1938 - October 28, 2013Carol Ann Jenkins, age 75, of Chubbuck Idaho, passed away on October 28th, 2013 at Copper Summit Assisted Living Center after being diagnosed this summer with Cancer. Carol was born on February 27, 1938, in South Chicago, Illinois to John and Mary Radosevich Kauzlarich. Carol grew up in South Chicago in an ethnically diverse neighborhood where she learned to appreciate people from many cultures and learned to love people for who they were. Carol enjoyed her neighborhood in Chicago and this is where she met her lifetime friend Melanie Baran. Carol taught Melanie how to ride her bike and decided that she also needed her tonsils out when Melanie did, just so her best friend wouldn't have to do it all alone. Even though miles kept them apart, they spent as much time together as they could over the years. Melanie was at Carol's side when she passed away. Carol went to school and graduated from Bowen High School. Upon graduation Carol stayed in Chicago and went to work for a Savings and Loan Company. From Chicago, Carol moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she met Stanley Jenkins who was on the Metro Police Force. They were married on July 22, 1967. Upon Stanley's retirement they moved to Chubbuck, Idaho, where she has lived for the past twenty seven years. Carol loved to stay busy and meet new people. After moving to Chubbuck, she quickly joined the Pocatello New Comers Club, now known as the Gate City Women's Club. She was a 2nd President and was in charge of putting together the monthly teas, which she really enjoyed. Carol also did volunteer work at her church where she was a very active member. She helped in the office counting the offering, mailing out bulletins and whatever tasks needed done. She especially enjoyed being an usher at the 5:00 p.m. Saturday Mass. Carol also volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul's Food Bank where she helped gather and organize the food and handed out food boxes to those in need each week. She truly loved being a part of the food bank. Carol also enjoyed crocheting, making her home and yard beautiful, bowling, and spending time with family and friends. She especially loved getting the chance to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carol was proceeded in death by her parents and husband. Carol is survived by her brother Kenny (Dawn) Kauzlarich of Las Vegas, Nevada. Step-children Brenda (Jim) Adkerson, Craig (Shawna) Jenkins and Vicky Skinner all of Idaho Falls, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. There will be a Rosary held for Carol at 6:00 p.m., Friday November 29th at St. Anthony's Catholic Church and a Mass will be Celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30th also at St. Anthony's Church. The family would like to thank the friends that visited and sent cards of encouragement for Carol while she was sick. A special thank you to Dave and Barbara Doerr, Judy Morris and Wayne Ruffridge for the love and attention that you showered Carol with each and every day. Friends wishing to make a contribution in her name can do so to St. Vincent de Paul's food bank in her memory.
You can to the family or in memory of Carol Jenkins.
