Carmen Castaneda, of Moorpark, CA passed away surrounded by her family on September 29, 2017. She was 65 years old. Carmen is survived by her children; Bernadette Castaneda and CJ Carrasco. Grandchildren; Londyn Parker Castaneda, and Brayden Leonardo Carrasco. Brother; Alejo Castaneda. Sisters; Elena Morales, Lupe Mendoza, Esmera Holguin, Dorothy Gonzales, Connie Bennett, Marylou Guiterrez, and Cecilia Doubrava. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carmen was born on December 21, 1951 in Carlsbad New Mexico to Leonardo and Adela Castaneda. She had a successful career as a cosmetologist. She was a talented and creative hairdresser, attending many shows and winning multiple awards. Carmen relocated to California in 2003. She retired from The County of Ventura in 2013. Carmen had a smile and personality that would light up any room. She was the life of the party. People were drawn to her fun and magnetic personality. Time spent with her was always a guaranteed good time. She was truly one of a kind. Carmen would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. Life will never be the same without her smile. She was proceeded in death by her parents; Leonardo and Adela Castaneda. Brothers; Luis, Aurelio, Martin, and Danny Castaneda. Sister; Velma Titone. Services are scheduled for Friday November 10, 2017 at San Jose Catholic Church., Rosary will commence at 12:00 pm, mass and burial to follow with Father Martin Cordero.
