Carmela was born on August 16, 1930 in Hackensack, NJ to Gaetano and Sara Alessandro. On June 4, 1954 she married Vincent J. Benanti at St. Francis Church in Hackensack, NJ and survives at home.Carmela was previously employed as a Machinist with Fair Rite Corp in Wallkill, NY. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City.In addition to her husband, Carmela is survived by her sons, Anthony Benanti and his wife Cheryl of Poughkeepsie, NY, Thomas Benanti of Port Ewen, NY, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 1 niece. She is predeceased by her brother Joseph Alessandro. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
