Carla Gayle (DeRaad) JacobsonAnkenyCarla was born on June 14, 1941, in Chicago, IL. She was raised in Ankeny and graduated from Ankeny High School. She moved to Ames in 1964. She was employed as a secretary for General Motors and Look Magazine in Des Moines and at Ankeny High School. She retired from Iowa State after 25 years and later employed by the Ames Tribune. She is survived by her daughters Cherie (Jacobson) Klimes, IA; Stacie Jacobson, AZ; daughter-in-law Tiffany Deyoe, AZ; and grandchildren Austin Klimes, CO and Alexa Klimes, NE.She was a member of Collegiate United Methodist Church and was a Friend of Ames Public Library. She volunteered at the book sales and at the Bethesda Lutheran Church clothing room. She last resided in Ankeny, IA at Mill Pond where she passed away peacefully on July 29. Memorials preferred to Ames Public Library.
