Carl "Pete" C. ReesFebruary 8, 1935 - May 10, 2016Carl "Pete" C. Rees passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016. He was born on February 8, 1935 in Salmon, Idaho to Ted and Mary Rees. He graduated from Salmon High School in 1954. He furthered his education at a welding school in Spokane, Washington from 1954-1956. On June 16, 1956 he married the love of his life, Patricia. Carl served in the U.S. Army from July 1956 to 1959, serving in Germany and Lebanon. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Pace International Union. After his service in the army they moved to Montpelier, Idaho for 4 years where he worked in maintenance, for Central Farmers. Carl, Patricia and family later moved to Pocatello, ID 1964. In February of 1964, Carl began employment with Simplot Don Plant doing maintenance for 38 years before retiring in September of 2002, many of his co-workers knew him as Pete.He enjoyed traveling, camping, spending time with his family and taking his grandkids on trips.Carl is survived by his wife, Patricia Rees, three daughters, Debra Belcher (Tom), Pam Popa (Dan) and Becky Hall (Roy), nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two uncles and one aunt.Carl's wish was to have cremation take place. There will be no funeral or viewing service.The family would like to thank all the employees at the Cancer Center and Heritage Health and Hospice care for their generous service and hospitality.Per Carl's request, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the animal shelter or Idaho Youth Ranch.
