Brigitte was born on April 19, 1941 in Berlin, Germany during an air raid. Her parents were Paul and Gertrud (nee Becker) Reuter. She had two siblings, a sister, Gisela Coughlin, and a brother, Eberhard Reuter (deceased).Brigitte was working as a telephone operator in Wurzburg, Germany when she met the man who would become her husband. She married Arthur C. McRae of Knoxville in 1962 and had two children, Arthur "Craigg" McRae, Jr. (married to Nancy McRae) and Ellen Marie McRae (married to David Hagigh). She remained married to Art for 55 years and had 5 grandchildren, Thomas McRae (deceased), Murphy McRae, Davis Hagigh, Craig Hagigh and Rebecca Hagigh. She was a member of Washington Pike United Methodist Church and an avid Jeopardy watcher. Her warm heart, ability to offer security to her family, and love of friends will be deeply missed.A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on June 10th at Washington Pike UMC. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to the Washington Pike UMC campaign toward purchase of an Automatic External Defibrillator.
