ST. JOE — Brent Allen Marti, age 47, of St. Joe, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016, at DeKalb Health in Auburn. Mr. Marti was born on December 4, 1968, in Kendallville to Richard and Gail (Poyser) Marti. He graduated from Prairie Heights High School and then continued his education in computer drafting at Ivy Tech. On May 5, 2014, he married Priscilla Smith in Auburn. Brent worked for CNC as a supervisor. He enjoyed flying and collecting model airplanes. Brent was a carpenter and built his own log house. He liked music and playing his guitar. Brent loved and adored spending quality time with his son, Van. Together he and his son would hike trails and go four-wheeling. Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Marti of St. Joe; a son, Van Marzion of St. Joe; his mother, Gail Marti of South Milford; a sister, Kathy and Tom Jackson of Kendallville; a brother, Kevin and Kim Marti of Kendallville; and two nephews, Levi Jackson of Springfield, Missouri, and Jeremiah Godfrey of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Terry Jo Godfrey; his grandparents, Herald and Lois Poyser; and a nephew, Brian Jackson. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home, 403 S. Main St., Kendallville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Hite Funeral Home. Officiating the services will be Pastor Mike Antal. Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
