A life well lived

Brandon Jamal Rose was born on Thursday, May 22nd 1986 to his beloved mother Donna Rose and his father Shawn Davis.

Brandon had A love for basketball at an early age. He started to dribble at the age of 2. Brandon loved the game so much he would wake up in the morning and turn on ESPN before heading out the door to daycare at the Roxbury YMCA. Brandon continued on to play basketball when he got old enough to be on a team. He was one of the first players on the No Books No Ball basketball team played at the Roxbury YMCA. Brandon won many trophies for his on the court skill. He also won a few MVP trophies. Brandon had great control while doing something he loved. He went on to play basketball for the Boston Police Youth League. He traveled to Greensborough, North Carolina while on the AAU basketball team. His team came in 10th overall.
Brandon also played football for the Boston Raiders as well as baseball with the South End Baseball league.
Brandon attended a few Boston Public schools as well as METCO. He received his first Honor Roll in first grade and continued to excel in school. in 2018 Brandon earned his GED. Which made him smile and made me even more prouder to see him complete this at an older age.

Brandon was also known for his tough skin. When someone needed something taken care of they knew who they could call.

Brandon loved his family very much. He talked about them to his friends and others all the time. His daughters were the love of his life and his ambition to do better. He loved his one and only niece and nephew dearly.

Brandon leaves to cherish his memory his mother Donna Rose; his father Shawn Davis; his only brother Ronald (Poppa) Rose-Cribb; his sisters Ariyana Gary & Shawna Davis; his two beautiful daughters Nevaeh & Jenayah; his nephew Bryson Rose-Cribb & his niece Oliviani Rose-Cadet.

Also cherishing his memory are the mother of his children Jillian Hughs-Ingram; the Cribb family; Dorby Sean Veal & Jarette Johnson & a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who loved and respected him dearly.
