Bonnie Jean HowardOkemos, formerly WilliamstonBonnie Jean Howard, 88, of Okemos, passed away on July 15, 2017.  She was born on July 23, 1928 to Charles and Thelma Grindling, of Mason, MI. Bonnie was active in many bridge clubs, was a member of Brook Hollow Country Club, loved playing golf and was a fabulous cook. She was very social, and was always going out to breakfast, lunch, dinners and movies with her friends; she considered her many friends as family. Bonnie volunteered for many years at Sparrow Hospital as an Ambassador and in the Gift Shop. She had a special love for her family, adored her grandkids including her dogs Molly and Buddy! She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, Robert and sister-in-law Barbara Grindling. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Julie (Eric) Anderson; son, Chip (Tammy) Howard; grandchildren, Michael Mullen, Kelsey Mullen, Hayley Mullen, Matthew Mullen, Abigail Anderson, Margaret Anderson, Cooper Anderson and her brother, Kenneth Grindling. Funeral Services will be held 12 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Avenue, East Lansing. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
