Bobby Lane Russell, 77, died peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2009, at La Mesa Rehabilitation and Care Center after a short illness. He was born on February 9, 1932, in Brandon, Mississippi to Joe Russell and Fannie Bell Huggins. He came to Yuma in 1955 and worked in construction for many years in various areas of Arizona and California prior to his retirement. He was a member of Laborer's Union Local 395. Bobby Lane was a regular and devout churchgoer, worshipping at the Second Baptist Church in Yuma. Bobby Lane is survived by four sisters; one brother; and a number of nieces and nephews. Johnson Mortuary is handling the arrangements for cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
