DOVER - Bobby Grier Jr. (Bob) was born on July 27, 1950 in Sandersville, Ga., to the late Bobby and Rosa Lee Grier. Bob passed away peacefully at his home on Oct. 23, 2016. He was raised in Wilmington, and was the first of six children. Bob graduated from P.S. Dupont H.S. in 1967. He was an avid football fan and played on his H.S. team for four years. He enjoyed relaxing in his recliner and watching old western movies. He became a dedicated Jehovah's witness in March 1998 and married Theressa Jean Coates on Aug. 8, 1998. Bob had a long term employment with Sun Oil Company in PA and VFL Technology. His present employment was with Red Clay School District as Supervisor of the maintenance department. Bob Grier was preceded in death by his mother; father; and brothers, Willie and David Grier. Bob is survived by his wife, Theressa Jean; son, Terry Crossland; step-son, Anton Hines; step-daughter, Jenessa Pounds; sisters, Linda Bond (David), Joanne Grier; and one brother, Stephen Grier; one uncle, Robert Smith (Valerie); one aunt, Estella Lewis (Ernest); a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
