This obituary is administered by:

In Loving Memory of Blanche “June” Harris

Blanche (June) Harris, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on June 13, 1935, Blanche lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of all who knew her. Her kind spirit and gentle nature left an indelible mark on those around her. Blanche will be remembered for her unwavering love, infectious laughter, and warm smile. Her legacy of compassion and grace will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our memories.

Blanche married her beloved husband, Burnie Harris, on December 18, 1953. Together, they were blessed with two daughters: Diane, born February 8, 1956, and Laurie, born December 21, 1959. Blanche devoted her life to her family and was known for her kindness, generosity, and steadfast love.

She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, deep compassion, and unwavering faith. Blanche had a gift for making everyone feel seen and loved, approaching each day with gratitude and grace. Her strength, patience, and selfless nature were the foundation of her family, and her legacy of love will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.

In her free time, Blanche loved spending time with her family, whom she cherished above all else. She also had a lifelong love of reading and could often be found with a book in hand, enjoying quiet moments of reflection or imagination. These simple joys brought her great happiness and peace throughout her life.

Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Burnie Harris; her father, Howard Fikes; her mother, Rachel Fikes; her brother, Clifford Fikes; and her daughter, Laurie Barrett. She is survived by her brother, Bill Fikes, and her daughter, Diane Sharp.

A funeral service to honor Blanche’s life will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Blessings Funeral Home, 401 Elm Street, Mansfield, Texas 76063. The service will be immediately followed by a graveside service at Italy Cemetery in Italy, Texas. Pallbearers will be Phil Sharp, Wes Sharp, Rex Sharp, Lee Cottrell, Blane Cottrell, and Travis Beeler.

Blanche’s family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, resting in the presence of her Savior. As Hebrews 11:16 reminds us, “But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.” Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we take solace in the words of The Broken Chain:

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Though Blanche is deeply missed, her love, kindness, and gentle spirit will remain with us forever, and one day, our family chain will be whole again.

You can to the family or in memory of Blanche Hartis.
