Bishop Earl Jones, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 1, 2013. Bishop was born on November 19, 1929 to the late George and Stella Jones. Bishop was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He worked with the Lenoir County school system for 28 years. He will be remembered as a loving and caring person that never met a stranger. Bishop was loved by all and will truly be missed. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Minnie Tillman Jones; one sister, Mary Alice Teel, three brothers; Cecil Jones, Roy Allen "Buddy" Jones and George Jones; special nephew Corey Carlyle and many other special nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at Howard- Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Jackson officiating with visitation to follow. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 5, at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
