Bill BergnerBill Bergner, 93, of Tilden, Ill., born on May 12, 1923 in Philadelphia, Penn., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Ill. Mr. Bergner spent his career in civil service at Scott Air Force Base. Mr. Bergner was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran serving during WWII.He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Amelia, nee Brooks, Bergner., one brother, Bob Bergner, and one sister, Louise Cope.Surviving are his loving wife of 72 years, Shirley Bergner, nee Stevenson, whom he married on Dec. 4, 1943 in Santa Anna, Calif. One son Bruce (Kitty) Bergner of New Athens, Ill. One daughter Amy (Jim) Malott of Tilden, Ill. His grandchildren, Michael (Lynn) Malott of Aviston, Ill.; Melissa (Matt) Braun of Troy, Ill..
