It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Betty Elmore, who passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2025, in Hickory, North Carolina, United States. Betty was born on May 4, 1946, to Raymer Samuel Yount and Helen Juanita Yount.

Betty is joining her loving partner Lawrence Elmore and survived by their three children: Vickie Larkin (spouse Jamie), Rebecca Hunsucker (spouse Kyle), and Robin Welch (spouse Andrew). She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren; Dustin Yelton, Jamie Larkin Jr (wife Chelsea), Dillion Yelton, Aspen Brown, and Sydnee Welch, great grandchildren; Haven Yelton, Kaelynn Larkin, sisters; Ruby Hyatt, Linda Buchanan and Martha Rowe, as well as many cherished loved ones.

Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a kind and generous spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. Betty will be deeply missed and will always be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and love.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at The Salvation Army Church of Hickory. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the church. Major Ricky Perez will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
