Betty L. Smith-KrebsYorkBetty L. (Reed) Smith-Krebs, 86, of Normandie Ridge Senior Living, who was formerly of Glen Rock, died Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the home. She was the wife of Leroy E. "Rick" Krebs, with whom she shared 19 years of marriage with this past September, and the late Joseph W. Smith. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, with the Rev. David L. Brinker, Chaplain at Normandie Ridge, officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Mrs. Smith-Krebs was born on April 23, 1929, in Boswell, Somerset Co. and was a daughter of the late David and Gladys (Johnson) Reed. A secretary for most of her life, she retired from Penn-Air & Hydraulics in York. Prior to that, she had worked at York College, Yesco Electrical Supply and was a secretary at Susquehannock High School for over 20 years.She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Glen Rock and the Triangle Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star #483, Shrewsbury, and the Normandie Ridge Auxiliary. Formerly of Glen Rock, she moved to the York area nine years ago and has resided at Normandie Ridge for the past four years. She also enjoyed traveling and going on bus trips.Besides her husband, Betty leaves a son, Joel A. Smith of York; a stepdaughter, Ricki Ann Krebs Hevner of York; two grandchildren, Derrick L. Smith and Casey E. Kraft; a great-granddaughter, Selina Smith; a brother, Gary Reed of Boswell; and a niece, Tracey McDonald. She was also preceded in death by a son, David E. Smith; and two brothers, Robert Reed and Donald Reed.
