Betty Renee’ Ligon affectionally known as “Punkin” was born on August 26, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Carolyn Jones-Ligon who precedes her in death and Leroy Williams. She was the youngest of four children. Renee’ departed this life peacefully with family by her side on October 22, 2023. She was preceded on her journey by her two brothers Eric Ligon and Tab Jones, uncle Harold “Buddy” Jones, Grandmother Pearl Jones, and favorite cousin Sandra Chapman.

Renee’ attended Catholic school during elementary and junior high and Hughes High School. Renee’ was a Home Health Care Provider until she became ill. Renee’ loved going to music concerts and taking road trips with her family. Renee’ made sure she attended the Jazz Festival every year with her family and friends, she made sure she didn’t miss a year. Punkin loved to play her numbers and scratch offs, listen to music, and party with her friends and family. Renee’ loved to BBQ. She would always be eager to “hop on the grill”. Renee’ had a special lover for her one and only daughter Raven.

Renee’ leaves to cherish her memory her only devoted daughter Raven Ligon (Lamar), brother Nick Ligon, granddaughters Laila Singer, Lauryn Singer, her doggie granddaughter Izzy, nieces Jacqueline “Jackpot” White, Tanisha Miles, Tyhisha Moore, nephews Rico Champion (Kara), Nick Ligon, Dominick Ligon, God daughter Ashlee Johnson, God son Lamar (MarMar) Griffin Jr., sisters for life Sandra Kelley, Lucy Johnson, and Deidra Rogers. Punkin shared a special bond with her cousin Lynn Hudson who was there with her to the end. Renee’ also leaves a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and family and friends to remember her.
