Betty Louise SpargoKnoxville, TNBetty Louise (Poplin) Spargo, died surrounded by those who loved her dearly in her own home after a very long illness (Rheumatoid Arthritis with complications) on August 29, 2017. She was born on January 16, 1938 to John and Edna Poplin and as a child played in the abundant hills and woods of Six Mile, Maryville TN. Betty was a fiercely devoted mother, sister, and daughter who freely gave much of her precious energy in her life to her family. She was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church and served as Staffing Coordinator for Baptist Hospital in the late '70's and through the late '80's. She leaves a legacy of love behind her. She is survived by her dedicated and unwavering husband of 60 years, John W. Spargo. Amoung those who mourn her loss are her son, William Rusty E. Spargo and wife, Laura; daughter, Kim D. Spargo and husband, Gerald A. Burnette; grandson, Ryan Spargo and wife, Leslie; sister, Mildred (Poplin) Cagle; brother, Jim Poplin and wife, Barbara; two sisters in law, Elaine Bugos and Carol Downing and husband, Jim; and a host of other family and friends, to whom are grateful beyond words. Graveside service and interment will be held 3:00 p.m. p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Forest Hill Cemetery.
