Betty Louise Goodspeed, 92Syracuse - Betty Louise Goodspeed, 92, of Syracuse, IN, formerly of Hartford City, IN, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. She passed away on what would have been her 75th wedding anniversary to her late husband, Vaughn. She was born on April 22, 1925 in Hartford City to Walter Madison and Gracie Pauline (Spaulding) Dutro.She attended Roll High School and on August 16, 1942 in Hartford City she married Vaughn Dale Goodspeed who preceded her on June 18, 1995. She grew up and lived in Hartford City, IN until the mid-1960's, and moved to Syracuse in 1972. Betty along with her husband were the owner / operators of V. Goodspeed, Inc. in Cromwell, IN from 1974 - 1992.She is survived by: 2 daughters - Barbara (Terry) Shields of Hartford City, IN & Tammie (Guy) Hursey of Kimmell, IN; 7 grand, 2 step-grand, 8 gt. grand, 1 step gt. grandson, and 1 gt. gt. grandson; daughter-in-law - Rhonda (Steve) Hurst of Carmel, IN; sister-in-law - Claretta Dutro of Hartford City, IN.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Richard Goodspeed, gt. granddaughter - Lauren Shields, sister - Carol Hawk, and brother - Francis Dutro.Visitation will be from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Marilyn Gebert officiating. Committal services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August in the Gardens of Memory Chapel, 10703 N. St. Rd. 3, Muncie, IN.Preferred memorial may be given to the United Methodist Church, 116 W.
